Product Carbon Footprint (PCF)

The Verde 365 Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) module helps companies calculate greenhouse gas emissions associated with their products and understand the environmental impact of their production processes, materials, and supply chains.

The platform simplifies product footprint analysis by allowing companies to upload their Bill of Materials (BOM). Based on the materials included in the BOM, Verde 365 estimates emissions associated with the material acquisition and preprocessing stage, which is often one of the most complex and data-intensive parts of product carbon footprint calculations.

In traditional PCF assessments, estimating emissions from materials typically requires collecting detailed environmental data from each supplier of every material used in the product, which can be extremely time-consuming and difficult to obtain.

Verde 365 addresses this challenge by estimating emissions using spend-based calculations and emission factor databases, allowing companies to generate product-level emissions estimates without requiring detailed supplier data for each material.

This approach provides a fast and practical starting point for product carbon footprint analysis, helping companies identify materials that contribute most to product emissions and supporting more informed product design and procurement decisions.
